“It is my constant go-to for news. Never before have Americans had more need for a tool that can help decipher truth from fiction. Ground News gives you that ability with information from the left and right.”
- Jodi A.
Real News
“It is important to me to have real and honest news because I do not want to further misinformation. Ground News is my go to news outlet.”
- Kelly B.
The truth always lies in between
“I’m a firm believer that the truth always lies in between. Ground News makes it much easier to research on my own, provides much more info in aggregate, and discourages me from having a bias.”
- Olivia M.
The News Isn’t Broken… But The Way We Consume It Is
Most people only see a fraction of the full story. Algorithms reinforce what we interact with. Media outlets frame the same event in completely different ways. And many important stories go entirely unreported.
Ground News fixes this by letting you compare coverage instantly, so you can see what’s real, what’s missing, and how perspectives differ.

Who is behind Ground News?
Ground News is a small team of media outsiders based in Ontario, Canada. Ground News is co-founded by siblings Harleen Kaur, a former NASA engineer, and Sukh Singh. Ground News is backed by a handful of mission-aligned independent individual investors, with no ties to corporate media, big tech, or government affiliations.
The Ground team does not evaluate the bias or factuality ratings on news publications or stories – we leave that to the experts. Bias and factuality ratings are averaged from three third-party independent news monitoring organizations, when available: All Sides, Ad Fontes Media, and Media Bias Fact Check.
How does Ground News rate bias?
We don’t use algorithms to shape what you see. You choose the stories. We show the full spectrum of coverage.
What makes Ground News different?
No. Our goal is to help readers understand how stories are framed, not to push any ideology.

See How Every Story Is Covered. Instantly.
Your Dashboard Shows Coverage at a Glance
When you log in, every story includes a coverage meter showing the percentage of reporting from Left, Center, and Right-leaning outlets. Before you click, you can quickly assess whether a story is broadly covered, concentrated on one side, or receiving limited attention elsewhere, so you choose what to read with immediate context instead of assumption.
Open Any Story to Compare Perspectives
Inside each story, you’ll find structured summaries broken down by political perspective, allowing you to toggle between Left, Center, and Right to compare framing and emphasis. You can then access the original articles directly, each labeled with bias rating, factuality score, and ownership details, so you evaluate both the reporting and the source behind it.
Discover What’s Being Underreported
The Blindspot feature highlights stories that receive little to no coverage from one side of the political spectrum, making coverage gaps visible across the media landscape. If your news consumption tends to lean in one direction, this allows you to identify stories that may not otherwise appear in your regular feed.

Ground News does not create its own political labels or decide which outlets are biased. Bias and factuality ratings are sourced from established independent media analysis organizations that use consistent, publicly documented methodologies and long-term content review to classify news outlets.
These third-party ratings are displayed alongside objective coverage data drawn from tens of thousands of global sources, showing how reporting is distributed across the political spectrum. Ground News does not edit articles, rewrite headlines, or shape narratives. Our team simply organizes verified rating data and measurable coverage patterns so you can evaluate the information for yourself.
